You can prepare this dish as an appetizer with croutons or pita bread. You may also serve it as a starter or with grilled meat. Feel free to taste it with you own amount of each ingredient.

  • 1 greek yogurt
  • 15 mint leaves
  • a few coriander leaves (optional)
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 4 green onions (optional)
  • salt and pepper
  • olive oil (optional)
Directions
  • Step 1 Your cucumber must be cut in very thin slices and well-drained. Use your hands to squeeze the liquid out of the cucumber.
  • Step 2 Combine all the ingredients except for the cucumber, taste and when it’s ready add the cucumber. Serve it cold with raw veggies, bread. It’s also a refreshing chilled sauce served with grilled meats or fishes.

Good to know!

I have a preference for the flavor of mint but feel free to substitute fresh dill if you like. It’s also very good.

  • You can serve it as part of a maze platter together with hummus and melitzanosalata. Delicious also with pine nut lamb keftas.
