Baby spinach leaf basket
There are several types of mozzarella cheeses. The Mozzarella di Bufala Campana is often mixed up with ordinary cow milk industrialised mozzarella. Make sure you choose the right type for your recipes. The real Mozzarella di Bufala is produced in a specific region in Italy and is made the traditional way.
- 20 small Mozzarella di Bufala Campana balls
- 20 baby spinach leaves with a long stem
- 2 thin parma ham slices
- olive oil
- pepper from mill and sea salt
- 20 wooden skewers
- Step 1 Rinse and dry the spinach leaves. Marinate the mozzarella balls in the olive oil with salt and pepper. Slice the ham in small portions. Cut the cheese balls in the center but make sure you don’t cut the slot all the way through. Insert a tiny amount of ham in the slot. Place the mozzarella ball with the ham on a spinach leaf. To shape the basket handle, delicately take the stem across the cheese preparation and insert it into the leaf as shown in picture. Be careful not to break the stem! Serve chilled.
