The venue\u00a0: did you make the right choice?<\/span><\/h4>\r\n
You\u00a0made the\u00a0announcement\u00a0congratulations ! You\u00a0found the perfect venue and even made a pre-reservation. All you have to do is to confirm the booking or\u00a0sign a contract and all what is left to do is organise the reception. But don\u2019t rush it.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
\u200b<\/span><\/span>Ideally you are one year ahead. Take the time to get as much complementary information as possible by asking your friends,\u00a0searching\u00a0on the internet or on social networks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n
\u00a0<\/span>Think about the weddings you went to so you can determine what you may wish or not wish for the wedding you have\u00a0to organize.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
Make sure the City Hall and the religious\u00a0organisations\u00a0are available on your dates and times. <\/span><\/p>\r\n
You will often hear that you\u2019ll\u00a0generally\u00a0be\u00a0around\u00a015% over your initial budget and that most of the time the reception\u00a0counts for about 65% of your total budget.\u00a0My experience shows that it is totally true. You\u2019ll always have last minute\u00a0spendings that will\u00a0had-up on some\u00a0items and you may \u00a0be temped to add a few\u00a0little extras just for the pleasure. <\/span><\/p>\r\n
So my advice here is to be on the same wavelength\u00a0as your\u00a0spouse\u00a0thus to\u00a0agree\u00a0on a budget you will try not to go over. Then you can start enjoying this great event\u2019s\u00a0organisation.<\/span>\u00a0If you\u00a0have financial help from your families keep them informed of your choices and try to make it a pleasant event for\u00a0everyone as organizing a wedding can bring out tensions and\u00a0<\/span>disagreements. Keep the\u00a0communication flow going and be clear on when the payments are expected;\u00a0you could\u00a0even set an informal get together to make\u00a0things out.<\/p>\r\n

Don\u2019t forget to check them all :<\/span><\/p>\r\n
Before making a deposit or even creating your invitations ask yourself all the\u00a0questions below. Once you have the answers go ahead \u00a0with the organisation and enjoy every minute of it. This \u00a0event is a joyful unique and very emotional feast.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n
\u200b<\/span>-What is the reception rooms\u00a0capacity? Consider both a sitting or a standing arrangement to keep both options open as you may wish to change your option.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Will you be allowed to use indoor as outdoor premises?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Will you be allowed to party all night? What about neighbours?\u00a0What are the terms?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-What are all the services included in the rental cost?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Is there an area dedicated to the\u00a0dancing floor?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Will you have to move the tables at some point during the evening?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Make sure you agree on all aspects before signing the contract\u2026What are the\u00a0business hours? The venue will be exclusively booked for you or would there be another party? Is there a cleaning service at the end and what are the overtime rates.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Are candles allowed on site?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Is throwing rice or confettis at the bride and groom allowed on the premisses\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-What about soap bubbles?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-By what time the flowers the decoration and the gifts have to be removed after the reception is ended?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Are all the safety rules and legal requirement met?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Are children meals or special fares meals for contractors available at reasonable prices?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Are there private rooms available for the bride and groom? Would they be separate also?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Is there a cleaning service during the reception for the ladies and men rooms?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-What is the parking situation for the guests?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-How large is the clock room?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Will the reception rooms be\u00a0heated or air conditioned?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Check on the noise level for the reception rooms<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-What about the lightnings at night? What is available?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Where can the pictures be taken outdoor and indoor?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Are microphones screens and podiums or stages available?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-How many waiters will be on board for the service?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Would my guests like the venue?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Is it in accordance with the style I wish my reception to have?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Would it be possible to have a brunch at the same place the day after?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-When are the payments due in term of time frame?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Are special insurances necessary?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

My advice\u00a0so you don\u2019t have any regrets on D-Day<\/span><\/h4>\r\n
Take notes and keep them at hand!<\/span><\/h4>\r\n
Keep in mind that you cannot control every thing. You already have great memories of the wedding preparation\u00a0with friends\u00a0family members\u00a0bridesmaids\u00a0and best men\u00a0and now it\u2019s time to enjoy and relax. <\/span><\/p>\r\n
-If something does not go according to plan there is a great chance that no-one will notice.\u00a0More over this party will most probably be the most expensive in your entire life so just enjoy every minute of it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n
\u00a0<\/span>-You\u2019ll have the chance to meet with friends and family you haven\u2019t seen for a long time. Take time to have a chat and spend some time with them. Ask your close friends or family to look after the guests who may not know anyone. <\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Try to anticipate on which of your guests could be connected to some others; find a way to introduce them so you won\u2019t have any regrets on reconnections.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n
\u200b-<\/span>Keep a list of the people you wis<\/span>h to have a little chat\u00a0with: time flies you\u2019ll see.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
\u200b<\/span><\/span>-If you have asked a\u00a0professional photographer on site see that his clothes atire fits with your guests style. It\u2019s important to set his working hours : set a time at which you expect him to leave. <\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Have a camera at hand: you may be happy to capture some photos at some point.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-Ask some of your friends to record the speeches you\u2019ll see that you\u2019ll be happy to view\u00a0them again\u00a0later on.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
\u200b<\/span>-Think about taking an extra pair of comfortable shoes\u2026Believe me\u2026You\u2019ll need them\u2026<\/span><\/p>\r\n
-A first aid kit is\u00a0useful\u00a0too.\u00a0Allergies\u00a0some bruises\u00a0blisters can happen.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
\u200b<\/span><\/span>-If you want to take group pictures do plan them. Time flies and you\u00a0need to think\u00a0ahead\u00a0to get\u00a0the groups together. <\/span>Make lists of friends you want together on a picture. Let them know in advance where and when to meet for the photo shoot.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
\u200b<\/span><\/span>-Ask some of your friends to help in gathering\u00a0the groups. The newlyweds and their parents will be busy the whole\u00a0evening enjoying their time entertaining all the guests. Close\u00a0friends and family should stay aware and\u00a0helpful\u00a0if unexpected details need to be taken care of.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n
\u200b-<\/span><\/span>Waiters and close friends should make sure that parents as well as the newlyweds have drinks and\u00a0appetizers\u00a0brought\u00a0to them \u00a0during the cocktail\u2026Newlyweds can starve if\u00a0no\u00a0one pays attention\u2026<\/span><\/p>\r\n
\u200b<\/span><\/span>-This is not mandatory but very often the newlyweds may wish to make an\u00a0announcement to thank every one for\u00a0being there.\u00a0Give them the opportunity to get the microphone before the end of the party.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
\u200b<\/span><\/span>\u2013 In case of bad weather, heatwave, storm, strikes or\u00a0whatever\u00a0always have a plan B.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
Most important : remember to enjoy every minute of the evening : this is one of the\u00a0happiest\u00a0day of your life!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n
